Conquering Peaks and Business Goals - A Q&A with Kristin Harila

Nordic Growth Summit

Kristin Harila is among the ranks of the world’s greatest climbers, but her story resonates far beyond the high-altitude communities. To help you get ready to be inspired by the insights she'll be sharing, we sat down and asked her what we can expect from her talk at Nordic growth summit.

Let's delve into what she has to say.

Kristin Harila

In a few sentences, please describe who you are and what you do… And most importantly why you do it:

My name is Kristin Harila. I am from the northern-most part of Norway. I love exploring the outdoors through skiing, running, and climbing. I fell in love with high-altitude mountaineering in 2016 when I climbed Kilimanjaro for the first time. Many years and mountains later, in 2023, together with Tenjen Lama Sherpa, we set the world record for being the fastest mountaineers to climb all 14 8000ers in only 92 days. We did this to prove that you can do anything you set your mind to, no matter your gender or origin.

How does your expertise align with the focus of the Nordic Growth Summit - Business Growth, HubSpot, and AI?

I think there are a lot of similarities between high-altitude mountain climbing and the business world. In both, it is important to set a goal, be clear and open about the goal and then put in all efforts in reaching it. On the way, we need to build a reliable and talented team that believes in the goal. Analysis of risks and pitfalls is equally important.

And how do you feel your expertise can help our audience (Nordic-based C-Suite professionals)?

I hope that my story can help inspire the audience to keep on heading onwards no matter the challenges they might face and to never give up on their dreams and goals.

Given the theme of the event is "Business Growth: HubSpot, AI and more", what do you believe is the biggest opportunity for businesses in the Nordic region/generally right now?

I think the Nordic region has great advantages in this new era of technology. With our unique Nordic approach to equality and consensus, I think our way will be important in development of, and setting guidelines for, these tools.

Without giving too much away, can you give a teaser about what attendees can expect from your talk?

I will be talking about both my journey and the journey I took with Tenjen Lama Sherpa. Our ups and downs and our strong team. In addition, I will be talking about my new projects.

What's one piece of advice or a key takeaway you'd like attendees to walk away with from your session?

I would like that the attendees to go home with a new spark of motivation, a positive hope for the future and a strong determination to never give up on their dreams and goals.

If you were a C-level executive in the Nordic business landscape, why would you attend Nordic Growth Summit?

To listen to the speaker insights and take note of their experiences and try to learn from them, build my network and talk with other business leaders, share experiences and come together to create better business opportunities.

Gain firsthand insight into her journey and let Nordic Growth Summit guide you towards reaching new heights in your own endeavors.
